Error Identifier: attribute.void

Every error reported by PHPStan has an error identifier. Here’s a list of all error identifiers. In PHPStan Pro you can see the error identifier next to each error and filter errors by their identifiers.

Why is it reported? #

The result of a call that returns void is being used in an attribute context. A void return type indicates that no meaningful value is returned, so using the result is a logic error.

How to fix it #

Do not use the return value of a void call. Ensure the attribute class constructor returns appropriate values or restructure your code so the void return value is not consumed.

How to ignore this error #

You can use the identifier attribute.void to ignore this error using a comment:

// @phpstan-ignore attribute.void
codeThatProducesTheError();

You can also use only the identifier key to ignore all errors of the same type in your configuration file in the ignoreErrors parameter:

parameters:
	ignoreErrors:
		-
			identifier: attribute.void
